The Friends of Sunnybrae School (FOSS) is a

non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to

making a difference in the lives of children by

keeping the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme

alive at Sunnybrae School.

Six years ago Sunnybrae was awarded a federal grant, which provided the funds to start the IB programme. Since that time student achievement has climbed, test scores have soared, and compared with similar schools Sunnybrae went from the bottom 10% to the top 20%!

Now the federal money has stopped. FOSS, a diverse group of community leaders, parents, and teachers, was formed in order to provide funds to support this powerful, challenging IB curriculum.

Sunnybrae is in an elite group of elementary schools in California. There are only 26 authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) elementary schools in our state. The IB programme founded in 1968 works with 3,284 schools in 141 countries with students aged 3-19 years old. The IB program develops the intellectual, personal, emotional and social skills to live, learn and work in a rapidly globalizing world. Click here to find out more about the IB Programme
